COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

HOAfriends is committed to providing its users with a welcoming, positive, and socially enriching community networking experience.  Our HOAfriends community recognizes the importance of creating a similarly safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment to that which we all greatly value from our real-life home communities. We created these Community Guidelines to realize these important values through use of our Services; to encourage new friendships, and to develop a more close-knit community of neighbors – who you have yet to meet – all within walking distances from your front door.   

These Community Guidelines clarifies to our users the types of Content and communication acceptable within our private and exclusive HOAfriends social networking community.  These Community Guidelines apply to all Content and users on HOAfriends equally. We respectfully request you read and understand these Community Guidelines, and appreciate our desire to encourage respectful self-expression through sincere appreciation and sensitivity to all viewpoints and personalities.  

The below list may not identify all of the undesirable content or conduct that will not be tolerated within the HOAfriends community, however, our message should be clear – we want our community to be a safe and positive experience for everyone. 

Harassment and Bullying

  • We do not tolerate bullying or harassment of any kind.
  • Do not post, send, or communicate any content with the intention of making someone uncomfortable, unsafe, intimidated, harassed, or agitated. If a user blocks you do not attempt to continue contacting that user.
  • Sharing a user’s private information or content without their knowledge and consent is not permitted.
  • If a user within your community requests that you remove content that identifies or depicts them unfavorably, please do so to avoid any unintentional conflicts.

Threats, Violence, and Harm

  • Encouraging, promoting, or depicting violence or dangerous behavior is prohibited, including intimidation or threating to harm a person, a group of people, or someone’s property.
  • Any content of gratuitous or graphic violence, including animal abuse, is not permitted.
  • We do not tolerate encouragement of self-harm, including the promotion of self-injury, suicide, or eating disorders.
  • Disclosing or threatening to expose users’ private information without their consent, including releasing users’ private or confidential contact info, is not permitted.

Sexually Explicit Content

  • We prohibit accounts that promote or distribute any pornographic content.
  • We report sexual exploitation to authorities. Never post, save, request, or send nude or sexually explicit content involving anyone, of any age whatsoever, on our Website.

Impersonation, Deceptive Practices, and False Information

  • Impersonating to be someone you are not, including any friends, neighbors, brands, or other organizations, or seeking to deceive people about who you are, is not permitted.
  • We prohibit spam and other deceptive practices, including manipulating content for misleading purposes or to imitate users’ content.
  • We prohibit spreading false information that causes harm or is malicious, such as denying the existence of tragic events, unsubstantiated medical claims, or undermining the integrity of civic processes.

Illegal Content

  • Do not use HOAfriends for any illegal activities, including to buy or sell illegal drugs, contraband, counterfeit goods, or illegal weapons.
  • We prohibit the promotion and use of certain regulated goods, as well as the depiction or promotion of criminal activities.
  • We require that you comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content.

Terrorism, Hate Speech, and Hate Groups

  • Terrorist organizations, extremists, and hate groups are prohibited from using our Website, and we do not tolerate content that promotes violent extremism, polarizing political viewpoints, or terrorism.
  • Hate speech or content that demeans, defames, polarizes, or promotes political extremism, discrimination, or violence on the basis of race, color, caste, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, immigration status, socio-economic status, age, weight, or physical appearance is prohibited.

All users can report any content that violates our Community Guidelines via email at: support@hoafriends.com. Reports will be reviewed to determine any violation of these Community Guidelines and any action that must be taken. Please know that other actions that are always available to users include updating your privacy settings, restricting who can see your content, or blocking any other users.

If you violate these Community Guidelines, we may remove the offending content, terminate or limit the visibility of your account, and/or notify law enforcement. If your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service or these Community Guidelines, you may no longer use HOAfriends. Please adhere to these Community Guidelines and respect the worthwhile and enriching community sought to be created.
